DESCRIPTION:The Playformance Teen meetups are an opportunity for tweens/teens with autism to connect with their peers and stay active while at home.\nThe meetup is facilitated by Coach Kevin from Playformance. Parents are welcome to watch or take a breather.\nOur goal is to facilitate activities and social experiences for youth with special needs while at home. They will learn new games\, interact with one another\, and have fun. This event is scheduled once a month. DESCRIPTION:For many parents of children on the autism spectrum\, life can seem very different and distant from the experiences of many other families and it can be possible to feel that there is no way that they can ask for or expect other people to understand their experiences. This group is led by parents and does not offer professional advice.\n\nThe Autism Society hosts a dynamic Parent Peer Support Group where parents share experiences\, get information and advice\, make community connections\, and research opportunities for services and provisions for their children. The group also has a lot of fun as we talk about the issues\, both big and small\, that we face. Parents with children of all ages and abilities are represented.\n\nThe group meets via Zoom one evening a month\, usually Monday\, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.\n\nThis is a parent-peer support group and is not led by a licensed therapist.\n\nThis group does NOT fulfill any court-ordered credits for parenting classes.\n\nIf you would like more information please complete the form at\n\nhttps://as-az.org/parent-peer-support-group/
